Welcome to the 2013 Big Read!
The Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, Harrogate’s 2013 Big Read title is the iconic Casino Royale by Ian Fleming. Join the Big Read to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale, by discovering the book which first introduced secret agent James Bond to the world.
Festival Reader-In-Residence David Mark will be taking a whistle stop tour of the North of England to meet readers in Yorkshire and the North East.
Thanks to the generous support of publisher Vintage Classics, the Festival will be distributing a limited number of free copies of the Big Read book via our partner libraries in Leeds, North Yorkshire, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Stockton. Reading groups in these areas wishing to take part in the Big Read should email: crime@harrogate-festival.org.uk for more information.
